Center for MS

Ayush Prana’s centre for MS is situated on the banks of river Periyar, with the serene view of the forest stretched across one side of the centre. It is in Illithode village, 25 km from Kochi international airport. A 30 minutes’ drive from the airport will take you to one of the most beautiful places in Kerala. Our centre is studded with numerous varieties of trees and herbs such as teak, jackfruit, mahogany, mango trees, henna, nutmeg, pepper, papaya, and coconut palms.

PAMS Ayurveda

Dr Prasanth often defines MS as a Neurological-diseases, having multisystem involvement. The disease pathology involves immune system, psycho-neurological system, endocrine system, and the metabolic system, beside nervous system. So, it is a neuro-immuno-psycho-endocrine-metabolic disease.

Ayushprana Foundation

Dr. Prasanth, the Founder of Ayush Prana, strives to understand the suffering of MS patients on much deeper levels. He delves into unchartered territories of Multiple Sclerosis and Re-Emerges with an effective Ayurvedic treatment that has produced significant changes in his patients. Ayush Prana is the result of Dr. Prasanth’s search for a beautiful place where one can find inner peace. Ayush Prana Foundation is registered as a non-profit organisation functioning for the benefit of MS patients. Through this Trust we provide help to those deserving. Special consideration will be given for paediatric patients and young mothers.

The Research Program

We find the specific cause of MS in a patient. Study is done to evaluate the genetic cause if any and means to protect next generation from genetic transmission. Close monitoring and recording of the patient’s Neuro- immune involvement, neuro-psycho analysis, and their solutions with herbs and therapies during the treatment and afterwards until the expected result is attained.

Therapies

In accordance with innovative treatment methods, we conduct immuno therapies that can enhance body’s capacity to regenerate. It is also regarded as the most effective therapy in Ayurveda system. We use high quality and most organic oil that can stimulate the marma point where your physical and subtle body intersect.

Shiro Vasti

This form is considered the strongest and the most effective therapy in Ayurveda. It is called ”the Queen of therapies” in Ayurveda, though it makes sense only if you use high quality oils. It accesses the central nervous system directly by keeping it on the head for certain time (1.5 – 2 hours) and influence the most sensitive and important marma point (energetic centres) where the physical and subtle body meet. Some little quantity will be absorbed through the scalp, but the most important factor remains that there is a different, invisible absorption which cannot be seen, but it takes place, functioning in a very subtle way, from where the essence of the herbs will be absorbed. This has the greater importance than the physical absorption.

Thaila Dhara

The warm herb infused oil will be poured over the body, on special marma points activating them. And this will be combined with a soft massage. The herbs will be assimilated through the skin. The essence of the special plants for neurological system will work by influencing the brain and nerves.

The body will gradually become more flexible, the bladder will start functioning better, the numbness or stiffness, or spasticity will disappear with time, sight will be improved and so on. It is not because of the massage but is the result and confirmation of the processes which takes place in the central nervous system, with the help of the herbs where the nature itself (the basic of any organism) will reveal its power to heal. After the Thaila Dhara, the patient needs to lie down on the table for minimum half an hour, a period which will maximize the effect of this therapy form.

Kashaya Dhara

The same procedure but this time using a customised herbal decoction, poured over the body and marma points, will help to increase the metabolism level and thus the absorption of the herbs, will bring relaxation into the body, which will yet again benefit from the herbs used in the decoction (called Kashaya).

Other Therapies

There are other therapies like Nasya, Rice massage, with a very special rice which grows only in Kerala, Basti, Talam and so on, but in comparison are administered very rarely. Whenever the doctor deems it necessary, the therapies will be decided, mostly, on a daily basis, according to your pulse.

It cannot be pre-planned or ”booked” as per the patient’s wish and the doctors alone will decide it according to the condition, pulse and experience.
